Post Contraception Implantation Testing
IVF FLORIDA offers specially trained physicians and staff who can easily and quickly perform the HSG confirmation testing required after a woman has undergone the implantation of a permanent contraceptive device such as the Essure® or Adiana® devices. These procedures can be conveniently performed each weekday in our office in Margate, or the procedure can be performed at any one of our local hospitals.
The confirmation Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) is required following implantation to determine if your ovarian tubes have been sufficiently occluded (blocked) preventing the ability of the transport of the egg between the ovary and the uterus, thus preventing pregnancy. If you have recently undergone the Essure® or Adiana® procedure, and have not yet scheduled your HSG confirmation test, we encourage you to contact your physician's office right away and schedule the test.
As with a tubal ligation procedure, the permanent contraception implant is indeed just that, permanent. It cannot be reversed. Therefore, if a woman desires pregnancy and has had the device effectively implanted, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) will be the only available option to achieve pregnancy.
