Wayne S. Maxson, M.D., is the founder of our Fort Lauderdale area practice and a skilled infertility specialist. He is subspecialty certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, has over 25 years' experience in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility, and has published over 125 abstracts, articles, and book chapters. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey, and went on to complete a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He served on the faculty of Vanderbilt University Medical Center for five years before entering private practice in 1986. He currently serves as a Voluntary Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Miami, School of Medicine.

When our Fort Lauderdale-area practice was founded by infertility specialist Wayne S. Maxson, M.D., in July 1986, it was known as the Northwest Center for Infertility and Reproductive Endocrinology. It has since grown from a solo practice to a team of seven physicians, and in 2000 the name was changed to IVF Florida Reproductive Associates.

Education

A native of Pennsylvania, Wayne S. Maxson, M.D., graduated from Princeton University and the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Barnabas in Livingston, New Jersey, and went on to complete a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Duke University, in Durham, North Carolina.

Areas of Experience/Interest

Wayne S. Maxson, M.D., is experienced in all areas of assisted reproductive technologies including in vitro fertilization (IVF), and embryo transfer, superovulation, and intrauterine insemination as well as endoscopic surgery. Clinical interests include treatment of recurrent miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis, and hormone replacement therapy. Wayne S. Maxson, M.D., also holds patents on micronized progesterone and a surgical device.
