Donor Egg

For individuals who cannot conceive using their own eggs, donor egg treatment offers a successful path to parenthood. IVF Florida provides comprehensive donor egg services, combining expert care, advanced IVF techniques, and access to a diverse network of carefully screened egg donors.

Our donor egg program supports a wide range of patients, including, but not limited to, those with diminished ovarian reserve, a history of failed IVF cycles, or LGBTQIA+ individuals or couples building their families.

Trusted by families worldwide

Donor eggs may be used in IVF when pregnancy is unlikely to occur using a patient’s own eggs due to:

Diminished ovarian reserve or premature ovarian insufficiency
Advanced maternal age
Genetic conditions that may be passed to a child
Repeated failed IVF cycles with poor egg or embryo quality
Surgical removal of the ovaries
Family-building for same-sex male couples or individuals working with a gestational carrier

Your care team will help determine if donor egg IVF is the right approach based on your medical history and personal goals.

What does the donor egg process involve?

IVF Florida offers both anonymous and known egg donor options. Egg donors undergo an extensive medical, genetic, and psychological screening process before being approved to donate.

The donor egg process typically includes:

Anonymous donors

Patients are able to select an anonymous egg donor through a national egg bank, like Fairfax EggBank, or agency, or they may choose a known donor.

Embryo creation

Donor eggs are fertilized in the lab with sperm from a partner or donor sperm

Embryo transfer

After fertilization, one embryo is transferred to the uterus of the intended parent or gestational carrier.

Pregnancy test and follow-up

A blood test is performed about 10 days after transfer to confirm pregnancy, followed by ongoing care

Patients may also choose to genetically test embryos before transfer through preimplantation genetic testing (PGT).

Success rates

Treatment using donor eggs offers high success rates, especially for patients with diminished ovarian reserve or age-related infertility. Our embryology team has extensive experience with donor egg cycles, helping to maximize pregnancy rates while supporting intended parents with expert care and compassion.
