Fertility Awareness Checkup
Only Available at IVF FLORIDA

Prepare now for your future.

IVF FLORIDA's Fertility Awareness Checkup will provide a snapshot of your reproductive potential and fertility health to help you plan for your future or address any conception roadblocks.

Who should consider a Fertility Awareness Checkup?

Knowledge is power when it comes to fertility health. If you want children in the future, scheduling a Fertility Awareness Checkup at IVF FLORIDA will provide insight into your reproductive health, so you can make educated and informed decisions on your journey to becoming a parent–now or in the future.
Fertility Awareness Checkups are only available to women between 21-44 years old. Women considering fertility treatments aged 45 and over should schedule a consultation with an IVF FLORIDA physician.

What does the Fertility Awareness Checkup involve?

When you schedule a Fertility Awareness Check at IVF FLORIDA, we will perform a blood test to measure three hormones (E2, FSH, and AMH) and a transvaginal ultrasound, which provides valuable information about your basic fertility status. You will receive results and recommendations during a complimentary 15-minute consultation with a dedicated nurse practitioner.

What will the tests measure?

  • The blood test measures the function of your ovaries and their ability to produce eggs.
  • The transvaginal ultrasound evaluates the ovarian reserve and checks for any uterine abnormalities.

When is the best time to have the tests done?

Timing is everything. The best time to have the tests performed is between days two and four of your menstrual cycle. To schedule an appointment, we ask that you call on day one of your cycle, so we can schedule accordingly. If day one falls on the weekend, please contact us on Monday to determine which day is best for you to come in for testing.

(Reminder: This is when you are NOT on birth control. If results are taken while on birth control, they can have inaccuracies.)

What Do These Results Mean?

Our dedicated fertility specialists will read and interpret the test results and thoroughly explain them to you. While these results do not give a definitive answer, they offer an estimate of your fertility potential and will help you determine whether you can wait to have children or if you should consider fertility preservation.

(You should also be aware that these tests do not guarantee future fertility, but the results will help answer questions about when and how to start planning your family.)
