Zoran Pavlovic, M.D.
Zoran "Z" Pavlovic, M.D., brings a deep passion for reproductive medicine and surgery, with a focus on providing comprehensive and compassionate care to those navigating their fertility journeys.
Dr. Pavlovic is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and board-eligible in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He further specialized in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility through a fellowship at the University of South Florida/Tampa General Hospital. His interests span a wide range of areas, including reproductive surgery, IVF, fertility preservation, third-party gestation, and genetics. Dr. Pavlovic has contributed to numerous publications and presentations on topics such as adenomyosis, artificial intelligence in reproductive technologies, endometriosis, and LGBTQIA+ family building.
Dr. Pavlovic is excited to bring his expertise, enthusiasm, and dedication to IVF FLORIDA’s Jupiter and Wellington locations, where he looks forward to helping patients achieve their dreams of starting or expanding their families.
Dr. Pavlovic is not only dedicated to his profession but also brings a wealth of life experience to his practice. In his free time, he enjoys traveling the world, immersing himself in new cultures, and discovering unique cuisines. Whether it’s snowboarding through fresh powder or participating in a cooking class, Dr. Pavlovic embraces every opportunity to learn and experience something new. Q&A:
Why did you become a doctor/reproductive endocrinologist?
I love people and I love science. Being within medicine seemed to be the perfect combination of those two passions. I grew up in a family that emigrated from Eastern Europe where there was a strong culture of service to others and a mother who preached love first and foremost. I feel that being a physician allows me to pay forward all the help and love I've received throughout my life.
Where did your interest in reproductive endocrinology come from?
The field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility combined that which I am most passionate about in medicine from developing meaningful patient interactions and relationships to reproductive surgery, science, and technology. The opportunity to be a part of a team of clinicians, researchers, and patients who are working to elevate this field is a life goal worth pursuing. I can think of nothing more rewarding than gaining the trust of patients and helping them in their most intimate and vulnerable moments within their journey towards creating a family.
Describe a time you were inspired by a patient.
I had the joy in medical school of taking care of a pediatric patient who, at his young age, had frequent intractable seizures even after multiple surgeries. Despite all his difficulties and setbacks, he always had a smile that would light up the room and showed everyone immense kindness. Even though he was mostly non-verbal, he had his own way of communicating where you understood him perfectly. He taught me that words aren't needed to express one's emotions and develop a real connection and that every human deserves love, respect, and understanding. He also displayed a resilience and desire to live life to the fullest that will be unforgettable and inspires me to be my best for others every day.
What is your approach to helping patients who are struggling?
I try to remember that everyone is going through their own unique journey in life with a multitude of trials and tribulations, and that I should never assume anything or judge anyone. No matter what the situation may be with a patient of mine, I aim to approach each of our interactions with love, respect, understanding and most importantly, vulnerability. Because if we come to one another with these tenants as the foundation of our interactions, there will be no obstacle or struggle that we cannot overcome. I’m here to help however I can during a patient’s difficult journey, and I will never forget that.
Who inspires you?
I have been blessed to have two amazing and inspiring female figures within my life in my mother and my wife. My mother emigrated from Poland where she was a scientist to the United States where she had to restart her education while taking care of our family and me. She was able to obtain her PhD while raising me and teaching me the value of helping others. All the time I spent in her lab pipetting water into various beakers since she could not afford daycare probably jumpstarted my love for science! My wife is superhuman and able to juggle medical training and family responsibilities all while remaining focused on her patients and providing the best care. They’ve both inspired me to be an advocate within the field of women’s health and to always do my best for my patients.
How would you describe your personality?
I would describe myself as genuine, empathetic, compassionate, and inquisitive. I smile often and believe that the glass is half full, but I’m also grounded and pragmatic when necessary.
What’s on your bucket list?
My wife and I love food and travel, and these are the things we spend the most time and resources on. After being inspired by the Chef's Table episode on Francis Mallmann, it’s on our bucket list to take a group of close friends and family to his private island retreat on Lago la Plata in Argentinean Patagonia, to enjoy a week of wonderful food and even more amazing views.
What are your hobbies and why do you enjoy them?
Traveling the world, experiencing new cultures and unique cuisines, cooking, settling down into a great book and being active outdoors are some of the hobbies I enjoy most. Whether it’s snowboarding through fresh powder in the backcountry after the season’s first big snow or participating in a cooking class in a foreign country where one discovers new flavors, there is so much to learn and experience in the world and I try to do as much as I can.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Going on adventures with my wife and our amazing family and friends sprinkled around the world makes life worth living and such a joy. I also love music and probably spend more time listening to various types of music than being in silence. Since I have a passion for audio, I often spend my free time exploring new music/sounds, discovering unique artists, curating playlists, and crate-digging for unknown albums all in search of the perfect sounds and listening experiences.
